PMG VERSUS OTHER THIRD PARTY GRADING COMPANIES

Since i was recently promoted to ELITE member (the highest in PMG ranking) of PMG and NGC i wanted to know how strict PMG grading are comparing with other third party grading companies.
As every collectors knew there are only two very reputable grading companies in the world that is PCGS (banknotes & coins) and PMG (banknotes) and NGC for coins.

Hence i wanted to put PMG to test and see how it fair against PCGS and the others.

And here's the result :-

The above 2 pictures are the same banknotes. First I cut out the Malaya $5 KGVI from PCGS encapsulate and then I sent the "naked" banknote to PMG for grading and came back the same result PMG 45EPQ both companies has equal judgement.

But i very much prefer PMG because it has an air-tight holder or casing compare with PCGS non air-tight holder.

You can see there are vast different between CGC grading company which are less strict compare with PMG. Firstly, CGC had over graded by one tier as AUNC and follow by 55PQ (original paper quality) compare with PMG graded as 45 (Extremely Fine) only without the EPQ.

Alpha Numismatics is a local Malaysian company located in Kuala Lumpur and is managed by its owner Mr.Gilbert. He also offer grading service and grade banknotes by himself.

I have sent two pieces of 1941 $1 KGVI that i have cut out from the holders and sent to PMG for grading and still waiting for its return. I will keep you updated with the results.

Happy reading.

Andrew
