Even with the high mintage of 100,000.00 pieces were issued for B.U condition but you can't easily find them in good condition today and many were melted when the price of gold went up from 1971 and some were made into the form of jewellery. During the time of issue those collectors purchased them for RM100.00 (MYR) as the same face value of $100.00 it carry, thus many collectors during those times realized the gold coin was not worth the value of RM100.00 because the gold content it carry were .917 and with the weight of 18.66 grams coupled with the low price of gold making it not worth keeping, those collectors using the gold coin to trade and paying for purchases since it was legal tender for the same value of RM100.00. Hence this gold coins was in "circulation" during those years since it was legal tender and was accepted as payment method, this resulted many of these coins condition with scratches and worn. There are not many good condition of this coin these days in UNC condition. Good luck in finding one.
