MALAYSIA 2007 / 2008 12TH SERIES RM50 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE LOW NUMBER 5 ZEROES AA 0000 92 0

Today i have received 2 lots one from PMG and another lot from NGC for my 1967 and 1968 Parliament coins respectively after grading.

To take pictures of every Parliament coins obverse and reverse and to scan every banknotes obverse and reverse are quite tedious job and very time consuming and energy sapping which i dont have now.

Therefore i chose those special ones to put in this blog to share with you all.

2008 12TH SERIES ZETI AZIZ TM50 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDECE (YELLOW BORDER) with 5 zeroes very Low Number AA 0000 920 (technically speaking). Another name locally known as RM50 50th Merdeka Goldline which are very popular and high demand in Malaysia and Singapore.

This note was issued in December 2007 with the mintage of 20,000 pieces only come with folder. It can be distinguished by its two borders which are YELLOW (Commemorative issues) in color compare with the circulation note which have SILVER color on its two borders.

This commemorative banknotes are very popular among the collectors.

Picture shown below are for circulation which have silver color borders.

Please visit often because i will gradually put up more fascinating banknote and Parliament coin pictures when time permits.

1986 RM20 JAFFAR HUSSEIN PMG 66EPQ LAST PREFIX "TH"

Just wanted to share my 1986 RM20 Jaffar Hussein banknotes graded PMG 66EPQ Last Prefix "TH" with Last Serial number ended with digits "1".

This banknotes was issued 28 years ago in 1986 and printed by Thomas De La Rue UK, time really flies isn't it ? It is sad that our current banknotes the 12th series Zeti Aziz did not show the name of the printer on its back. I wonder why ?

Happy Viewing.

RM1 ZB REPLACEMENT VERSUS RM5 ZB REPLACEMENT WHICH ONE IS BETTER INVESTMENT ?

I have been observing and incline to comment for months till today 16th Feb 2014 on this topic. Where do you want to put your money for better returns RM1.00 ZB replacement note or RM5.00 ZB replacement note ?

Obviously RM1.00 ZB is taking the lead it went to RM250.00 per piece on November 2013 and was done recently on 23rd January 2014 for RM450.00 per piece a pair of 2 pieces consecutive numbers that was the peak.

This consecutive pair (as above picture) was sold for RM900.00 per pair. The high price was done perhaps it was consecutive pair and it fetches a premium (only about 10% higher) as most dealers have got individual pieces only and there are no consecutive pieces of more than one piece was ever seen thus far.

Many dealers argued the high price was fair because there was no bundles or stacks available in the market and only comes in individual pieces in between the stacks of common RM1.00 notes. What if i show to you another similar piece as below and tell me your thoughts ?

What does this picture tell you ? It show to you base on the serial number 0134990, there are "one hundred and thirty four thousand and nine hundred and ninety" pieces were issued by BNM. This is the highest number i have ever seen till today 16/02/2014. Do you still think this is rare ?

Now let us compare with RM5.00 ZB replacement banknotes as picture below.

Thus far this is the highest serial number i have ever seen (plus or minus 100pieces more). Have you ever seen any serial number higher than this one 0055401 ? That mean there were "fifty five thousand four hundred and one" pieces issued by BNM. And the current price is only about RM35.00 per piece on average. This is a far cry comparing with the RM1.00 ZB replacement note !

Eventhough the RM5.00 ZB replacement notes can be found in bundles of 100pieces and the RM1.00 ZB replacement notes can't be found in this manner doesn't mean they are rare.

What if someone with strong hands are quitely kept the the RM1.00 ZB since it was the lowest cost (only RM1.00) to be kept and put aside for awhile before it reappear again when the price are higher ? This for sure are bound to happen. And when (not if) this happen the price would collapse back to RM1.20 each piece ?

My advice to those newbies collectors please do your own mathematics and dont simply follow the flock !
The above pictures are proof and not hear say and it worth a thousand words on where to put your money.

I rest my case !

Every comments are welcome.
