WHAT IS COINS CONSERVATION ?

I've found many local collectors does not understand the meaning of coin "conservation" and "preservation" being done by NCS. Hence when i use a simpler term as "washing" coin service everyone are taken aback. Instantly they have their thoughts link of "washing banknotes" that were in their mindset, as traditionally collectors have been told to never have their coins cleaned and this is a stark contrast what NCS are about to do with their coins.

Examples of coins condition before conservation

Malaysian collectors are confused with the term "Conservation" and "Doctoring". "Coin Doctoring", is an attempt to make the grade of a coin through deceptive means such as artificial methods are employed to make the coins more beautiful such as mechanical repairs are made like filling holes, smoothing out scratches, and re-engraving of detail. This is what you should be afraid off !

Malaysian collectors are unlike westerners collectors, whereby westerner collectors like their coins to be conserved especially the silver coins. After conservation the coins won't develop mikly spots or oxidise for many years to come.

After conservation service by NCS

Malaysia is in the tropical climate where we have excessive moist and heat and that will erode our coins more rapid. Light surface corrosion, or toning are the common signs of most coins in this state.
Toning causes copper coins to turn brown, and silver and nickel coins to develop hues of blue, red, green, purple, and other colors. If left untreated the coins will deteriorate further to advanced stages of corrosion can damage a coin’s surfaces. If the toning process goes too far, the coins turn black and the actual surface of the coin may be ruined forever.

These are few examples of coins being conserved by NCS

Eight metals are primarily used in minting coins, tokens and medals: platinum, gold, silver, copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, and nickel. Silver, copper, aluminum, zinc, tin and nickel are most sensitive to the environment. If you stores these coins in your house without air-conditioning they will oxidise rapidly over the period of 2 years (similarly to our Nordic gold coins).

NCS will evaluate the material made of your coins and use the best method to conserve them without damaging the coin surface and return your coin back to its original appearance.

Please contact me if you want to send your coins to NGC for grading or NCS for conservation service where i have regular shipments over to them every month.

Thank You.

AUTOGRAPHS COLLECTION

There are many types of collectors in the world and what do i collect besides numismatics ? Well i do collect autographs of famous people and that is from all the great badminton players in the world.

I took up this sport when i was young and i took the opportunity to ask for autographs from all of them.

THE RETURN FROM NCS & NGC FOR APRIL SHIPMENT

Today i have received my shipment back from NCS & NGC for April's shipment after 33days. The time requires are usually longer by NCS to process the coins thereafter were send to NGC for grading at another department in the same building.

I will now show you the coins before and after NCS conservation service. I think NCS did an amazing job by cleaning and conserving the coins from oxidization and milky spots for both silver and nordic gold coins. You dont have to worry about oxidization for many years ahead.
