MALAYA 1942 $100 KING GEORGE VI FIRST PREFIX "A1"

This is one of my latest acquisition the 1941 $100 Malaya KGVI first prefix "A1" but in VF condition. This banknote was printed on the 1st January 1942 by Bradbury Wilkinson UK but was not issued until after the war.

These notes have borderless designs, the signature and serial numbers being on the opposite sides and the denomination repeated in Jawi, top-left, there is little difference in placement of the elements, The notes are significantly larger though but are all the same size.

On the reverse side of the note contains the "crests" but does not have the denomination in Jawi. Around the centre crest is written "Board of Commissioners of Currency, Malaya".

I will be sending this note to PMG for grading.

1986 RM100 JAFFAR HUSSEIN 6TH SERIES PREFIX "ZV" PRINTED BY UNITED STATES BANKNOTE CO.

I will also be sending these 10pcs consecutive numbers GEM UNC 1986 RM100 Jaffar Hussein to PMG too. These banknotes were printed by United States Banknotes Co and considered scarce because there are only five prefixes printed by USBN they are ZT, ZU (replacement note) ZV, ZW, ZX, ZY.

The replacement note with prefix "ZU" by USBN is the most expensive Malaysian replacement banknote with the catalogue price (KN BOON cat) of MYR50,000.00 per piece for UNC condition. It was the rarest and the least number of pieces issued of 30 pieces under this printer.

The rest of other prefixes were printed by Thomas De La Rue UK in large quantity.

THE RETURN OF 1989 JAFFAR HUSSEIN "UZ" REPLACEMENT BANKNOTES AND 1961 $10 MALAYA & BRITISH BORNEO PAIR

I'm delighted with the high grade given by PMG to my 1989 Jaffar Hussein "UZ" replacement banknotes of 4pcs PMG 66epq and 1piece PMG 65epq however i'm disappointed with the grade received for the Red Buffalo pair of PMG 55 only.

I have sold the Red Buffalo pair immediately when the grades were known when the notes itself were still in PMG office in the United States the same goes to the "UZ" pair of 65epq and 66epq, this is how hot these banknotes are.

The mintage of "UZ" are believe to be no more than 40,000 pieces were issued during the reign of Jaffar Hussein.

3pieces consecutive numbers UZ0026642, UZ0026643, UZ0026644 grade 66EPQ.

2pieces consecutive numbers UZ0026638, UZ0026639 grade 65EPQ & 66EPQ respectively.

1986 RM20 JAFFAR HUSSEIN STACK

Currently everyone has gone bonkers over graded banknotes and coins and are competing on grades with each other. As i have mentioned before on my previous post that Malaysian numismatics has evolved and the Gen-Y collectors are demanding high quality stuffs for their collection unlike those days of our fore fathers. The atmosphere of collecting has changed and even the "old-timer" dealers are "panic" seeking and buying for graded banknotes/coins to keep for their inventory otherwise they themselves will be "phased" out too.

Now every dealers are looking to buy banknotes in "stacks" or hundred pieces because this is the only way able to achieve high grades. Nowadays it is not cheap to buy in stacks to keep for your inventory and it will cost you a fortune or the price of a house or an apartment. Try to imaging how much it would cost you for a stack of 1961 $10 Malaya and British Borneo (red buffalo) and a stack of 1999 RM1 Ali Abul Hassan (prefix CR).

Hence for myself to keep abreast with time and demand from buyers i will be sending this pristine stack of RM20 1986 Jaffar Hussein prefix "TG" to PMG for grading. This banknotes was printed by Thomas De La Rue, UK.

I'm keeping my finger crossed to obtain high grades from PMG.

Happy reading.
