Well so much have been published and said about this banknote that it was issued to commemorate the Commonwealth games in 1998 in Malaysia and I do not want to repeat what have been published by the masses, otherwise I may sound like "copy and paste" blogger.
This is one of the laggard commemorative banknote in term of pricing. This piece definitely value for money because it was the first polymer note issued by Malaysia and until today it is already 15year old as time of writing and you can still find it for below RM200.00 per piece compare with some Malaysian "circulating" banknotes with the same year of issued in 1998 which have surged by several hundred percentage. As a collector you will know which one will perform better "Commemorative or Circulation" banknote ? Your answer is as good as mine definitely "Commemorative" ones.
You will be surprise there are many non Malaysian collectors haven't seen this bank note before and were fascinated with the beauty and vibrant colours making one couldn't resist the temptation of owning one as souvenir.
But as time passes each day this bank note has become lesser and many was purchased by overseas collectors. Don't overlook this piece of history or you will be paying for higher price in future.
