Recently on 19 October 2013, a new record for the most expensive Malaysia circulation coins sold in Singapore auction (Numismatic Society Asia Auction at Landmark Village Hotel) a 1969 50 sen Milled edge coin sold for SGD4012 or RM10,253 (including buyer premium) was graded a low NGC MS55 (AU).
And not too distant ago in 29th Septemeber 2013 a 1969 50sen with Security Edge in UNC condition (non graded) was auctioned at MNS (Malaysiam Numismatics Society) in Kuala Lumpur for a realized price of RM2800.00 ! That is how hot you can feel and see in Malaysian numismatic scene.
And today I was extremely delighted to have received high grades for my Parliament coins from NGC. I sent 5 coins and came back with 3pcs MS67, 1pc MS66 and 1pc MS64. It is extremely tough to achieved MS67 grade.
Hi Andrew, just curious. Is it still possible to find the 1989 50 sen in BU condition, and how hard is it to find?
ReplyDeleteHi Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by. The 1989 50sen Bunga Raya series in BU condition is not hard to find with mintage of 6.6mil compared with the key date of 1995 with only 1.6mil mintages.
